Aashka Goradia in 'Bigg Boss' 6

One of the most awaited reality shows, Bigg Boss season 6, is set to hit the tube from October 7 on Colors.

The show, this season, will air at 9 pm on the channel. While the names of the contestants who can be expected inside the house this time round are kept a closely guarded secret, we have time and again reported about those who have been approached for the show.
Last week, we informed our readers about the Bhojpuri actor Nirahua aka Dinesh Lal Yadav who was approached to participate in the show. And now an insider from the industry spills out the latest name to have been approached by the production house.
Aashka Goradia, who was last seen as Kalavati tai in Colors' Laagi Tujhse Lagan might be part of the show as well. Apparently, even Aman Verma And
Swami Nithyananda Had Been Approached For The Show. The host of the show, Salman Khan, has promised that the content this season will be cleaner and suitable for family-viewing. Hope the daily soap actress will ensure that Salman's promise of airing clean content isn't broken.

Swami Nithyananda in Bigg Boss 6

If rumours are to be believed, India's most controversial spiritual leader Swami Nithyananda might be entering the country's biggest reality show Bigg Boss.

The self-styled godman who shot to notoriety with unproven allegations of a scandal with Southern actress Ranjitha, was also the target of a former disciple who frivolously claimed to have been raped by him 40 times over five years.

Even while these cases reached the courts, Swami Nithyananda became a favourite punching bag for many television channels, but surprisingly witnessed growth in popularity and followers.

When asked about reports regarding Nithyananda entering Bigg Boss, his spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar admitted, "I've been told, the godman has been approached earlier," but added, "It's too early to confirm or deny."

Apparently, in their agreements for Bigg Boss, all participants are bound by a very strong secrecy clause about their entry on the show. That could be a reason; most never admit to their participation before the show.

Shawar Ali, Jay Bhanushali in Bigg Boss house?

The makers of reality TV show Bigg Boss may not have announced the official list of participants for season six, but reports suggest that model-turned-actor Shawar Ali and TV actor Jay Bhanushali have been roped in for the reality show.

And this negates the recent reports that only couples were being approached for Bigg Boss this time.

Incidentally, Shawar was spotted having lunch with Salman at Filmistan Studios, when the star was doing a promo shoot there for the show.

But a few days ago Jay had said: "I am not a part of Big Boss season 6."

Shawar too had denied being approached for the show.

According to reports, both the actors were also spotted chatting inside a coffee shop in Lokhandwala, Andheri prompting one to wonder if they were discussing their game plan for the show.

Bhojpuri star Nirahua approached for Bigg Boss- 6

The countdown for Color's TV's Bigg Boss season 6 has begun. As the show gears up for yet another season with an interesting twist of a commoner brought in, Bigg Boss has certainly created inquisitiveness towards the show. While the news of international star Kim Kardashian and wrestler Sangram Singh being approached for the show is doing the rounds we now hear that Bhojpuri Super Star Dinesh Lal Yadav has also been approached to be a part of the show. Dinesh Lal Yadav, who is a popular name in Bhojpuri cinema, has many hit films and songs to his credits. It seems that the makers of the movie do perceive the star power brought by addition of Dinesh to the show and are planning to cash on his popularity in India. Following the trend of having a Bhojpuri star on their show like Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari previously, this season may see Nirahua entering viewers with his desi tadka. The show is expected to hit the small screen in the first week of October 2012 and will be hosted by Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan. We tried contacting Nirahua aka Dinesh Lal Yadav but he remained unavailable for comment.

Nupur Mehta to be a contestant on Bigg Boss 6

Mumbai: Nupur Mehta – the name sure would ring bells for she was embroiled in a controversy involving cricket match fixing recently. The erstwhile jobless babe, who shot to fame (thanks to the brouhaha), has unsurprisingly, been selected as one of the contenders of popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss 6’.

Hosted by Salman Khan, ‘Bigg Boss’ is famous for inducting controversy plagued contestants in its show, so it doesn’t come as a surprise when Nupur Mehta’s name is being considered to be a part of the show.

The official list of participants of the new season of ‘Bigg Boss’, has not been announced yet.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “Nupur is the kind of person we have been looking for.” Nupur hogged international limelight when she was allegedly used as a honey trap for cricketers. The starlet has reportedly confirmed that she has indeed been roped in for the show.

Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger in copyright case as he prepares for Bigg Boss 6

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger seems to be embroiled in copyright case as he prepares for Bigg Boss 6 with a new look. He will sport a French-cut beard for the very first time
Success doesn’t come cheap and it doesn’t come without controversies. So how Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger could succeed with its fair share of controversies and more controversies? It has made close to Rs 300 crore rupees at the box office till now and there are reasons to expect the collections to top around Rs 300 crore when it finally runs out of steam.
While Salman Khan prepares to host the Bigg Boss 6 that will seem him with an absolutely different look –French beard – and different clothes, his superlative success at the box office with Ek Tha Tiger script is now being called as copied. A little known script writer Anand Shankar Panda who has mostly remained at the margins of the industry so far has claimed that the producers have copied his story and many scenes and plots are taken from his script without any change.
He has gone to Bombay High Court and it is to be seen as to what court decides. But obviously it is going to be a long and lengthy court battle. But I fail to understand as to why Anand Shankar Panda took so long to approach the court. Was he involved in behind the scene talks with the filmmakers to sort thing out and when it failed, he approached the court.
Salman Khan’s film comes with many firsts. His latest film is reportedly the costliest film that Yashraj Films has ever produced. Insiders say, the film cost Rs 80 crores to produce and market. Another thing is the fact that Sallu Bhai has become very selective when it comes to performing in a film. Ek Tha Tiger was Sallu Bhai’s first release in the last one year and from the day one expectations were very high. And it was not without any basis. He has delivered back-to-back blockbusters during EID.

Sangram Singh offered 1 crore for 'Bigg Boss 6'

While the promos of Bigg Boss 6 have already started, there's great amount curiosity among the tele-buffs about the inmates that will be a part of this extremely popular reality show on Colors channel.

While the names of Kim Kardashian, Chunky Pandey, Poonam Pandey are doing rounds, our sources tell us that well-known wrestlerSangram Singh was also offered the show at a whopping fee of Rs one crore.

I refused the show

When contacted, Sangram Singh refused to divulge the details of the money offered to him by the Colors channel, but he admitted: "Yes, I was offered Bigg Boss-6, but I refused the show! When I saw what happened to the Great Khali, I was sure that I will never do such a show! He was mocked and people were shouting at him. His market fell down after the show! There's no denying that Bigg Boss is one of the most popular reality shows on telly today, but I don't think I am cut out for such a show, where there's hidden voting and everybody is out to stab you in the back! I'm OK with a dance reality show or an adventure show, but this kind of show will not suit my image as the brand ambassador of PETA and as a wrestler who has a carved niche for himself!"

Watch out for my biography
So, what's new in his life, other than his evergreen romance for Payal Rohatgi? "Watch out for my biography, which will be out soon. I hope it inspires many youngsters," says he.

Bigg Boss: Salman Khan sends advertising rates roaring 20% in Season 6

MUMBAI: Salman Khan is inviting the family to watchBigg Boss this time around as its begins its sixth season next month. So, whether it is the combination of Khan, who is riding an uninterrupted wave of success, or the fact that Colors is recasting the show as a family entertainer and is therefore expected to give the show a prime time slot, the much debated reality show, definitely one of the most expensive reality shows on Indian television at Rs 150-160 crore, is commanding a 20% premium on its ad rates this year.

In the fray for the title sponsors this year are telecom,FMCG and even a white goods company with the expected price, according to sources, within both television and advertising industries being around Rs 35-40 crore and ten second rates coming close to Rs 3 lakh.

Harish Shriyan, CEO of OMD says Khan's successful run at the box office does not necessarily mean that one can ask for higher ad rates, yet Khan's mass appeal is what has lured in the white goods brand which has thrown in its hat into the Bigg Boss ring for the first time. For now, these rates are still lower than what KBC has notched at Rs 3.75 lakh per ten seconds for this season. Cadbury is said to have paid, between Rs 20-25 crore this year.

For Colors, the success of this show is critical-- never has competition among the GEC's been so tough. Gross Rating Points (GRP's) are very close, with number one being held on tightly by Star while two, three and four are keenly fought between Colors, Sony and Zee.

Big Boss vs KBC
According to TAM data for last week, Star led with 264 GRPs, followed by Colors at 245, Zee at 227 and Sony at 210. Colors is riding high on two of its fiction shows and the dance reality show of Jhalaak. But the battle is only going to get tougher, so moving away from the previous seasons, Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors has decided to broad base the show, making into a fully family entertainer and here they have definitely kept Khan's mass appeal in mind. "If Jhaalak (the dance reality show with Madhuri Dixit) is dancing with the stars, Bigg Boss will be camping with the stars," says Nayak who while choosing not to comment on the ad prices, does confirm that it is an expensive show and they are scaling it up further this year and have therefore priced it higher this time round.

He does add that there will be lots of opportunities for brands and active and passive integration possibilities.

According to Nandini Dias, COO, Lodestar, Colors premium pricing is because it will be shifting the time slot and the number of times that Khan appeared last year had been reduced due to his illness which has been increased this time. Yet, she also voices Shriyan's sentiment saying the success of a film is no guarantee that another creative property will work. "Every creative property has to stand for itself. Salman is seen as a successful anchor for Bigg Boss. But the eyeballs will depend on who the participants are far more than only the anchor," says Dias who feels last year the Bigg Boss brand took a beating because of the kind of content it had and had become difficult for families to view together.

Salman Khan's look & wardrobe for Bigg Boss 6

Salman Khan has always been a trendsetter. Whether it’s his long hair from Tere Naam (2003), Being Human tees and more recently, or the chequered scarf from Ek Tha Tiger, everything has been copied by his fans. For his next TV outing with reality show Bigg Boss season 6,He will be seen sporting beard and a new wardrobe and has even shot the promos in this avatar.
Salman’s sister Alvira Agnihotri and designer Ashley Rebello have ensured that the star looks hot on the small screen. Rebello spills the beans on Sallu’s latest style, saying, "Salman Khan's look is more formal as compared to the previous seasons. He will sport a more structured look with a mix of two-button suits, jackets in colours such as lemonade yellow, mustard and salmon pink, and a lot of black shirts with trendy ties. Also, he will be seen flaunting a brand new element, which will create a rage.” But the designer stays mum on it claiming that it’s a surprise, which will be revealed later.

His fans have mixed reactions about his new look. Neela Mehta, a 35-year-old architect, says, “Salman's new look reminds me of Amitabh's from KBC."

Alisha Rodriguez, 25, writer, echoes her saying, “The French beard is weird and makes him look old.”

However, Sapna Ganjawala, 16, student feels that he looks really smart with the French beard and can carry off any look.

Another positive response comes from designer Sanjiv Mimani, 45. “The look is different and a good attempt. It might take a while to get used to it, as he’s always been fuzz free,” he says.

Here it comes
Aman Verma: “The new look looks promising as he has always been cleanshaven. It’s a different appereance.”
Tina Datta: “Salman has an ingrained sense of style. Formal suits paired with sunglasses will make him look every bit the Bigg Boss man!”
Nandish Sandhu: “I met him while he was shooting the promos and right then I’d said that he’s looking cool.”
Mahek Chahel: “India’s hottest man Mr Salman Khan looks cool. He will rock BB 6 again.”

17 Housemates That Can Rock Big Boss Season 6.

Poonam Pandey, made headlines when she said she'll shed her clothes if India won the cricket world cup. Imagine what she would do if she became the winner of Bigg Boss 6!

Kim Kardashian is one of the most popular celebrities in the world. Why, well because she makes a living out of being popular.

Not Sunny Leone, but Pooja Bhatt would make the perfect tyrant in the Bigg Boss house!

An ongoing investigation about Nupur Mehta's involvement in match fixing during international cricket tournaments has us wondering if she would be a loyal housemate...

Actress Aarti Chabria hasn't got much going in Bollywood, however she did win the fourth season of 'Khatron Ke Khiladi'. Fearless, is she?

When things get out of hand between housemates, five-time World Boxing champion Mary Kom could just knock them out. How convenient.

Krushna Abhishek, the new star of 'Bol Bachchan', could charm the girls with his sense of humour, unless girlfriend Kashmira Shah doesn't approve.

Stand-up artist Sudesh Lehri, Krushna's partner in a comedy show could be an interesting addition, not for his sense of humour, but for the sake of competition, because unlike in their show where winners are announced in pairs, here, there's only one stop on the Top

Ranjeet for his expertise in Bollywood rape scenes, his untiring acts of villainy in over 200 films and his talking style.

Asrani would make the housemate that everyone unanimously votes out or overlooks out of respect. So he has a great chance of creeping up the top spot inconspicuously.

Actor Jackie Shroff, only because we think he needs publicity, like Rahul Roy did in season 1.

Television actor Ram Kapoor to calm things down and ration his diet.

Director Ram Gopal Varma so he can scare everyone with his horror stories, and compete with Pooja Bhatt over casting Poonam Pandey in their next projects.

Actress Amy Jackson to see if she changes her mind about beau Prateik Babbar, and her tattoo.

Actor Vidyut Jamwal of 'Billa II' fame to get more recognition and balance the female to male ratio.

Television actor Vivian Dsena, who stars in 'Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani' as an Indian representative of the worldwide vampire association (if that exists).
